Tenuta di Nozzole
Il Pareto Toscana IGT Cabernet Sauvignon
Well constructed if flamboyant. A bit over extracted for me with a touch of tomato skin showing through. Generous oak. Tastes like high end St Helena Cabernet made in Italy.

Feb 6th, 2021First produced in the 1987 vintage, aged in oak for about 16 months, deep Ruby with aromas of stewed berry fruits, oak, tar and licorice. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry and black cherry, mushroom, cacao and leather, soft smooth tannins, showcasing the tertiary profile of this wonderful wine. Long finish ending with stewed fruits and complex spice. Outstanding!

Nov 29th, 2019Lovely nose and nice freshness on the palate, but a little loose too.

Feb 19th, 2018Very good. Very very good. Plenty of stuffing. Dense, dark, spices, fresh and dried dark fruits, minty, herbal, granite. Long finish, takes 30+ min for one glass... it’s young... but delicious. Tannins are very firm, alcohol and oak are appropriate. Drink now or forget about for 5-15 years.

Jan 4th, 2018This wine shows what happens when everything in a wine integrates over time. Seamless from beginning to end. Dark and inky in color, the dried fig fruit has some tartness to it. The acidity is perfectly balanced and highlights everything else, including the iron and graphite notes. This may be on the downhill slide but barely so.

Dec 29th, 2019Trying to figure this one out a little bit as I think the nose may have been slightly off. Tobacco, dried herb, fig and plums. On a whole, the wine was a little austere and a tad thin. This one took a while to get going. Had a crazy amount of stuff oak tannin at first but this settled after an hour. These Tuscans always seem to show a nice mixed bag, but this one goes a bit to the dark and gritty side.
