Blend of 40% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby color with aromas of dark fruits with herb and toasty oak notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with smoke, tar and sweet herb spice. This is a full-bodied red that wraps thickly over the palate, showing rich density and concentration along the way. Fine tannins, long finish ending with ripe fruit and toasty earthy oak character.

In 1964, while looking for land to expand Tenuta dell’Ornellaia, Marchese Lodovico Antinori discovered & acquired property of Tenuta di Biserno near Bibbona. A blend of Merlot, Cab Sauv, Petit Verdot & Cab Franc, aged for 12 months in French oak, intense aromas of ripe currants & sweet spice. On the palate ripe black fruit flavors, elegant fine tannins with cacao & tobacco tones. Long ending with an earthy character. Nice. Consistent with ‘15 I tried.

Marchese Lodovico Antinori discovered Tenuta di Biserno near Bibbona, in the Alta Maremma area of Tuscany, in 1994. Had another bottle, Yes! Blend of Merlot, Cab Sauv, Petit Verdot & Cab Franc, aged for 12 months in French oak, concentrated aromas of ripe dark berries & sweet spice. On the palate cherry, currant & blackberry flavors, elegant fine tannins with vanilla, cacao & tobacco tones. Lingering ending with an earthy character. Very nice. Wow! Age this a bit, you will he rewarded.

Absolutely delicious, a Bordeaux style wine with Old World elegance and a New World sense of forward fruit. Very refined with enough acidity to pair with many foods and the sole, ripe tannins to make it enjoyable now or anytime over the next 10 years. Lovely blackberry, cassis, forest floor, violet with a bit on menthol in the background.

Recently tried ‘15, liked it a lot, found a ‘14, & grabbed it. Beautiful and brooding. Dark fruit. Not over extracted. Solid bottle.
