2014 vintage. Noticeable brett on the nose, medium plus tannins that dominate the sour red fruit palate. Overall somewhat flat, not dynamic profile and finish

Light Ruby in color with a red rim and light intensity.

Nice nose of red fruits, cherries, strawberries, cloves, earth, leather, green vegetables, herbs, wet leaves, wood and pepper.

Light to medium bodied with medium plus acidity.

On the palate, strawberries, raspberries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, leather, cherries, spices, peppercorn and earth.

Medium finish with soft tannins and black pepper.

A Good food wine but not by itself. Unbalanced and earthy. Drinkable, but not very enjoyable. I usually like Chianti Classico at this price range, but this wasn't my cup of tea.

A blend of 70% Sangiovese and 30% Merlot .

I paired it with a dish of Baked ziti.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

Good balance, though one misses the richness of the 2012s.

Nice surprise. Dry and complex. Vibrant. Really all you wanted in a wine you pick up at the grocery store.

Dry, light bodied Chianti Classico. It has a delicate and refined character that complements food. This is the 2014 vintage.

Great Chianti Classico, bit earthy but showing really pretty dried fruit and floral
