A very good quality wine, tehere the ripe and defined primary fruit is embracing the secondary oak aromas, lacking some evolvement and persistence on the palate to reach higher. Alcohol is a bit warming and out of context, and the wine would benefit of a better intergration.

Distinct Tuscan red fruits, but a bit pungent and spicy right after opening. Significantly smoother on day 2. With filet mignon in morel mushrooms and red wine sauce, potatoes, and escarole fig winter salad.

Cocoa powder, leather, and raisins on the nose. Red berry and dark plum in the front of the palate followed by a light green twigginess , some tannins.

Prune... raisin...
This is way overdone. I don't know what the issue is but, to me, a super Tuscan should not resemble a Porto. No signs of cork taint, it's a new wine, I can only assume that this is the intended product.

Tannins are firm. No acidity. No real sugar, but again... All notes point to a two-decade + cheap red. Maybe that's good to some, but to me it comes across as rotting not aging. So why 90? Well, it's drinkable, and actually better than the preceding Chianti.

Update: per wife, this wine sucks.

Ok so probably a bit overkill for pizza hut dinner at home with the kids but this was a random grab by my wife. This is really good for $20. Compares to other wines 2-3x its price. BlackBerry, black currant, tobacco, and lavender.
