Tenuta delle Terre Nere
Calderara Sottana Etna Rosso Nerello Cappuccio Nerello Mascalese
A pale ruby color in the glass offering delicate notes of dried flowers, tart cherries, marjoram and bitter orange. The tannins are drying and grippy but not cloying. The fruit is delicate and round with soft silky textures of bing cherry, Vassos, black currant and crushed stone. The finish is lush and soft with hints of figs, star anise, and smoke.

May 6th, 2020Fresh picked raspberry, wild flower and feminine on nose, reminds me of Chambolle Musigny with violets, oregano, and cherries. Very wound up and austere on the finish. Excellent acidity, fine tannins. This needs time in bottle. This will be a great bottle of wine.

Jan 10th, 2017Ever evolving during the night. Red fruits, savory herbs, smoky mineral. Fairly tight on open, with brisk acidity at the forefront. Opens up nicely with air; quite Burgundian and ethereal. Upside from here
