Il Veltro is a newbie Brunello from Montalcino, medium Ruby with fragrant berry fruit, spice and earthy notes. On the palate red berry flavors, with licorice, spice, pepper and earthy mineral feel. Fine soft tannins, medium+ savory finish ending with a mushroom and cedar notes. An ok wine!

Flabby. Not much going on here. Boring fruit and minimal earth. Drinkable but a little boring.

Alarm bells for me on the nose. I hope I'm reading it wrong in that department l, I'm tempted to think something is wrong with it. Where is the fruit?. Nose is hard to read. A deap, full and strong pallet with very present acidity... VERY lean style, needs a nice rare steak. Could never enjoy this on its own. With food? Probably another story.

I bought this 2004 bottle in 2009 on my honey moon. I’m drinking it now in 2021 on my would be anniversary with my soon to be ex husband as we toast to our 3 beautiful daughters. We are enjoying and glad that we stored it correctly/ sufficiently.
One thing we got right I guess 🤣

Drank last night and don’t remember the full profile but damn good. Good fruit with very subtle to nonexistent tannins. Good length. Last bottle and better than last one opened. Drink 2005 brunellos now.
