Te Whare Ra
Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Actually a Sauvignon Blanc 2015 vintage. Mid lemon with some petillance. Medium + intensity showing green capsicum notes with a little toast and honey from barrel ferment. A good wine with Alc at 13.5%. Drink now. No point in cellaring.

Jul 21st, 2016Starting the day with a seminar on NZ SB with the great Bob Campbell. The racy, long TWR was the star of the show.

May 14th, 2014Itโs #thetcwineclub time! I picked this bottle for this monthโs box seeing as it was International #SauvBlancDay on the 4th of May and I have to admit, I do love my #nzwine ๐
The TWR (aka Te Whare Ra, House of the Sun in Maori) 2016 Sauvignon Blanc is made from grapes ๐ taken from 2 vineyards at different altitudes in Marlborough (top of the South Island). Owners, Anna & Jason Flowerday have a zero-intervention and small-batch approach to winemaking.
On the eye itโs a lovely lemon colour with fresh passionfruit, crunchy snow peas and crisp lemon ๐ coming through on the nose. In the mouth itโs juicy and vibrantly fruity with a lovely fresh herb ๐ฟ character to it. A great match to our slightly spicy wonton soup ๐
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #winesample #tcweekdaywine

An easy choice for an approachable kiwi sauv blanc. Perfume bouquet with sour citrus and stone fruits. Lime, grapefruit and some nectarines with a Indian spice finish.

Mar 1st, 2018Clover and green grape skin on the nose. Bright, crisp and tingly without carbonation; then light melon; finishes with light acidity - underripe tangerine. Really really amazing.
