Dec 25th, 2019Love that it stays good up to 4 weeks after the bottle is opened. It took me about that long to finish it, just because it is 20% alcohol. Very drinkable right away. I had the 2011 vintage.

The smell is not that enticing, like cheap store brand soy sauce that has been sitting in a dank basement. Thankfully the taste is better, if not all that complex. Fresh with ripe red berries, a hint of grape skin, and cocoa powder. Would be great with a slice of chocolate cake.

Had this after the ruby so a lot more complex a lot more fruit and spice elements - comes off more like a vintage port

JL Fladgate tasting 10/20/16. Good dark fruit and a bit of alcohol on nose. Very balanced palate with hints of chocolate and complex medium finish. Good value at $18.7.

Good value for this LBV. Full and warm with fruit cake and spice aromas and flavours. Good length. $16.
