Exemplary Merlot/Franc blend. Pretty high octane, but the oak/fruit/tannin structure is a tour de force. Upper echelon Aussie wine.

Oct 11th, 2015Sumptuous. Rich and soft and ripe and dense with a palate that lingers long. Fruit cake and Cherry Ripe with savoury notes and deeper complexity. Some brighter red fruit notes sitting on top of dark stewed fruit and spice. Gorgeous wine in an Australian style.

May 10th, 2021Warm vintage, soft ripe fruit. Presents as young but very approachable with soft tannins, with liquorice and dark fruit prominent and tannins sitting in the background. An intriguing contrast to the Man O’ War blend alongside it. Very easy to enjoy but perhaps some element missing at this stage.

Dec 31st, 2020The second of a couple of new world Bordeaux blends tonight. Many similarities and yet a great contrast. This opens enclosed in a mysterious shroud of mustiness that’s gradually opening up. Beneath is an intense concentration of dark purple fruit, accompanied by just the right grip of tannins. It’s intriguing and also evolving in the glass. The Man O’ War seems more approachable, but this one potentially more impressive.
