Last night with good friends we open this beautiful Walla Walla Washington Bordeaux Blend the 2011 Tamarack Cellars Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Reserve Red Blend. 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot and 29% Cabernet Franc.

On the nose there is brooding ripe dark fruit, black cherry, blackberry, licorice, graphite, spice and a pleasant earthiness.

The taste is rich with dark fruit, black cherry, blackberry, clove, black pepper, licorice and an earthy complexity.

This wine is full bodied with medium + acidity, a pleasing mid palate, medium chewy tannins that lead to a long lasting finish. The wine went over well and was a hit with everyone. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a safe work week ahead. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

The aromas are full of dark fruit, black raspberry, black cherry, black currant, cocoa, violets, tobacco, spice, clean soil and a mineral component.

The palate confirms the nose. There is exciting dark fruit, cherry, black raspberry, black currant, clove, mocha, black pepper, graphite and an earthy soil.

This wine is full bodied with a silky smooth mouth feel. There is medium + Tannin, medium + acidity with a long smooth finish. Very impressed with this wine. Happy Fathers Day and have a safe rest of the weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Oh she is starting to develop and come into her own but she has plenty of life left. Needs a good long decant. Crisp tannins and acidity with plenty of red and black fruit with a hint of tobacco. Red Mountain is where I head Bordeaux varietals. This is Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Little shut down. Very creamy nice slightly grainy tannins. Fruit is not specific but Bordeaux esc. More on the slate gravely with good minerality.
