Apr 13th, 20161988 Vintage - very decayed & perfumed nose - closed at first pour, started to open and flavors were mature but intense and exotic. Always a very restrained Aussie style that is a beauty at 27 years old - kudos to Dominique Portet who gave me this bottle.

Holds up so well for such an inexpensive wine. 'TALTARNI' was absent from the label, so we took advantage of the error. Big blackberry flavors and spice on the finish. Not amazingly complex, but a reliable, age-worthy Shiraz to say the least.

Bought at auction, a bit of a risk! Very pale and tinged with brown on opening but wow what a nose! Very exotic perfume and spice like an old Pinot. Drank beautifully over a few hours with sweet fruit, a potpourri of spice and subtle dusty tannins

Oct 11th, 2015Concentrated fruit palate with spice. Slightly funky nose but not in a bad way. There's still good fruit, acid and tannin so there's life ahead of it. Except that we drank it.

Apr 22nd, 2015Revisiting this one. Still delicious. Powdery dark chocolate nose along with herbs, aniseed and dark fruit. Smoky palate with medium body and great length. Very interesting wine.
