Weir vineyard 2009.; Yorkville Highlands, Mendocino County. Red and black currants, saffron, beautiful. World-class Pinot! "Eccentric clones" says the label, also high elevation near the coast. Concentrated but elegant - remarkable.

Fun to taste Weir from another producer. Deep fruit, cool climate Pinot. I was a bit taken back by the high alcohol that didn’t relax until the last glass. Or maybe I didn’t relax until the last glass 😛.

With Tim & Deb. Dessert. Damn good.

Rhubarb, raspberries, cherries, leather

Tim was a complete asshole that night... From a story about a stinky airplane passenger...

Yum. Non-candied ripe cherry, floral petals and spice. Possible hint of cedar on palate. Beautifully elegant and balanced with just enough acidity to make me super excited to see where this Weir will be in a few years..
