Superb Syrah blend. First tasted this wine at Tablas Creek in Paso. It was my winner of the tasting. Brought this bottle home, and having it at our new year’s dinner now. Layers of red fruit and some spices, finely balanced, light at 13.5 alc. could drink this all day, all night, and then all day again. 😎. Great food wine.

Thanksgiving Paso Robles trip second day first stop. This is a tasting note for its single varietal bottling of Syrah. Not blended! Since I couldn’t find its entry and this is the closest. Vintage 2020. Most Tablas Creek Syrahs went into blends like esprit or cotes every year. But in favorable vintages some particularly classic barrels of Syrah were reserved for this single varietal bottling. Barnyard, clove, black pepper. Fresh blackberry. Medium acidity, grippy elevated tannins.

A special blend. Not over the top. Low level of alcohol for Paso! Amen. Went well with grilled pork loin. Made for each other.

Nice spice and brambles, with some nice blackberry structure. Definitely needed some time to open up!

Nose of mushrooms and lavender. Palate is lush with plum and raisin. Good tannins worthy of food with balanced acid. Pepper bursts through after breathing which is refreshing for a syrah (some syrahs tend to only give pepper notes). Anti-CA syrah given how dry the wine drinks.

Beautifully floral and energetic. Tangy red/blue fruited with five spice and brown sugar. Syrah-based blend featuring 12% of Terret Noir, something imma have to look up after enjoying this bottle.

Really love this wine ❤️ Plum, tobacco, lots of berries & currant note and slightly floral. Very youthful and flavorful with medium/medium+ acidity and silky tannins.

Wowzer. Hats off to Tablas Creek on this blend! Smooth and fruity but not over the top. Balanced by dust and chalk.
