Co-owned by the Perrin family of Beaucastel fame. This is their entry-level white blend, 54% viognier, 30% grenache blanc, 8% marsanne and 8% roussanne. Evolved golden colour, intense nose reminescent of dried exotic fruits, sage and a hint of bee wax. Medium-bodied, ripe and round, with good balancing acidity, nice mineral notes and a rather long, spicy, bitter-almond finish. Amazingly complex for a white, 6 years old entry-level wine. 22 euro. 2010 vintage.

Sep 10th, 2016This is one of my go-to table and cocktail wines. This Viognier Grenache blanc etc blends is the US equivalent of a white rhone blend at an affordable price. Tablas Creek is a partnership with the famous Beaucastel folks, and this is the middle priced version between the Patelin and the Espirit. Eminently drinkable and this 2010 is no exception. The 2013 Patelin is lauded in the new WS as a smart buy at $20
