The first Klundt Pinot where I thought he had Pinot talent but wasn’t quite there yet. Fascinating wine. Nose is all forest floor, shrubs and tree bark with some mid season and sour cherry fruit. A charmingly rustic nose. Palate is ripe and elegant but has a tiny barely noticeable prickle of heat. The fruit is deep and luscious and has amazing texture and sweetness. The fruit is what convinced me. The length and the sap. This is best showing yet. Ripe and juicy tannins. Lovely persistence. Terrific structure.

Very perfumy nose has cherry-plum fruit, loads of crushed rock minerality, and pine forest underbrush. Bright and full of limestoney notes in the mouth, it’s got high-toned cherry fruit and very nice length in the savory finish. Great acids and still some very fine-grained tannin. Reminds me a little of high-end Pinots from the cool Santa Cruz area.

Oct 26th, 2019Lovely nose of wet earth, mineral, damson berry fruit, light color, very Pinot color, and very Pinot nose. Such finesse. Lacey and delicate with lively acidity and nice tart fruit. Big cherries here. So clean and clear. Almost evaporates on the palate. Terrific velvety and elegant tannins. Lovely showing.
