One of the absolute best Monastrell I’ve had from Spain. I specifically told the wine store guy I didn’t line most of these from Spain because they are too fruit driven & flabby. He said this was old school and very reminiscent of southern France. He was spot on: this had that feral quality, meaty, iron, black olives, smoky, just transported me back to the affordable days of Minervois & Bandol. Balanced beautiful generous - kept opening more & more over a couple of hours. A real treat!
