This wine contains fruit from 3 different vineyards; Madder Lake; Liberty Oaks; & Terra Alta. A blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano, aged for 11 months in French oak (40% new), 615 cases! Deep crimson with berry and spice aromas. Flavors of red and black berry fruit with gentle sweet notes and vanilla spice. Fine soft tannins on a lingering finish, good balance ending with earthy oak tones. Nice! Tasting Sample.

It is interesting to be sure. I'm not sad I got two bottles although RIGHT now I wouldn't want to dive into the second one. I'd like to see how it evolves in a year or so seeing as there is a potent acid/alcohol/tannin trifecta that may meld interestingly with the stewed fruit tastes in this. It is the first thing I've ever gotten from Last Bottle. I'll buy from them again. I want to see where my second bottle of this goes. I am curious about ever so many things in their newsletters. Anyone else have experience with them?

Blueberry and raspberry are there first, but there is stony-ness and a mushroom-olive bread on a cedar plank. It is big-fruit Cali but it has structure. She's broad shouldered but she isn't on Steroids. Plus, points for growing Tempranillo in Cab and Chard country. This is wine with a story. #strightline #tempranillo

Jun 28th, 2014Bonus night at home getting ready for game 7. This is a nice complement to our homemade BBQ Chicken flatbreads. Dark fruit and tobacco on the nose and a nice burst of acidity. This was a pleasant surprise.
