In my opinion the best domestic Zinfandel on the market. So much depth, mouth feel and fruit. Not over done and elegant.

From 375. Gorgeous nose has lifted spicy blackberry, a note of warm, moist gravel, and wood smoke. Still youthfully structured, but displaying great balance and very pure fruit and a nice, restrained minerally note. The finish is all brambly Zin.

In .375l. Still a bit young and angular, but that is par for the course for Storybook. But it’s already very pleasurable now. Classic Zin scents of rich, spicy blackberry, with warm spice cake notes. A bit tighter than most Zins in the mouth, with nice balance of fruit, acid, and tannin. I’ll try another one in about a year.

Very closed off night 1. Night 2 it showed more fruit but was still very nuanced for a Zin. I love Zin as a food wine and this is a good option for food pairings.

Very drinkable zin. Moderate spice profile and balanced acidity pairs well with soppressata, double creme gouda, and olive oil & balsamic soaked french bread.

Blackberries, strawberry jam, cranberry compote. Bitter dried herbs on palate. Brighter acidity. Layered and nuanced.

Half bottle. Storybook Zins are as elegant and claret like as this grape can get. They need age, but I just couldn't wait. Nose tight but giving up scents of just ripe blackberry, campfire embers, and gravelly earth. Tight and structured in the mouth, but so beautifully proportioned that it's clear that it will only improve for at least 5 years. Luckily I have more bottles. The question is whether I have more patience. So it's 9.2+ for now.

I love Storybook Zins. No better balanced Zins exist. This one is very young (their Zins age!) but after a 2 hour decant there were beautiful scents of dark blackberry and smoky volcanic gravel. Elegant pure dark fruit and gravelly flavors, with long balanced finish. Love it. Thanks to my brother for cracking this one while I was visiting. (That's his newest dog Jake--a Tree-walker Coon Hound rescue--looking uninterested in the wine.)

Amazing color. Virtually pinot-like in its translucent crimson ruby tint. Thick sexy legs. Nose has a sweet cola effervescent quality and a feeling of walking along a stony river after a rainstorm. Mouthfeel is dynamic. Very concentrated at the center. Tannins are woody and fine. Solid core of fruit on the finish. TransZindent wine. No joke.
