This is about as elegant and “French” style a Zin as one can get. Nose has rich but restrained blackberry, a Bordeaux like cedar note, cassis, maple or hickory syrup, and a crushed stone thing. Concentrated but tidily-structured. This has the understated structure and coiled nature to last quite a while.

Me: Possibly newer vintage Pinot Noir from Sonoma?
Guest: What part of Sonoma?
Me: Well...it is not Coast so the flavors/spice leads me to RRV
Guest: You have tastebuds like a goldfish.
Me: ☺️ yeah I know....
I've touted about this winery and their great, age worthy Zins before and this is no exception.
