OMG - live long enough and you experience everything - my son is a senior electrical and computer engineering major - he came home and asked me a profound question - I was at a lost
What does this have to do with wine - not sure - but I set this up for the basis of my entry tonight
On delectable wine should affect you - physically yes - but if it effects you emotionally and spiritually then we have something
Ok this wine is a 97 WE and I understand why - it affects me - it impacts me - I like it - and it is big bold beautiful - I decanted for 3 hours and singing began - like the three tenors - maybe not an opera but with feeling and tear jerking emotion
So I love this wine - I feel this wine - I want more of this wine - and finally I am smiling and my son still loves me and I love him - but I cannot solve his question but he did slow down enough to enjoy good wine with his dad and said he loved me - the world is prefect and great wine helps

Just past it's prime. Still interesting but beginning to thin out. Lots of licorice and tertiary aromas of mushroom, soy/umami, earth and slight hint of aldehyde. Enjoyable but wishing we had opened it a year or two ago. Half bottle of 1999 vintage.

This will be a five* in five+ years. She is still young, but powerful in the red fruits. The blend of Fay and C.L.V. makes it near the best in the Stag's Leap district.

Initially this was very brooding and dense with muted fruit. It evolved quickly revealing a sweet smooth entry, dusty tannins, dark ripe plumb and baking spice.

Sweet ruby blackberries & black cherries, dark raspberries, strawberries paint the back palate, dark rich wet earth, crumbled dark minerals, sweet leather, soft spice, anise, wet stones and a long rich elegant finish.

This was a bit tricky in the line up, no one was able to call this wine. It comes across cooler on the nose. On the palate its medium bodied, plush with fruit that is slightly jammy. Blueberry, sweet tobacco, anise, vanilla.

Wonderful wine. It had better be at its price, but paired with a nice steak it was a real treat.
