Really unusual upon opening. However, not that used to Napa syrah. Ive had very few. After about a half an hour this opened up a lot. Preserved blueberries and blackberries with a meat like element. Floral violets and pepper notes. An oaky spicy pie crust like finish to start which has transformed into a jammier finish with caramelized notes with time. The black fruit and blueberries really came to life. High acid for napa, long finish, big fruit, great color. Wonderful

all the floral, stone, & berry I want to counterbalance the leather and deep spice balance of the Syrah. A few days ago at the tasting room, this vintage had sold out when all of the sudden they released a bit of the '05. Truly staggering their patience, as these two vintages could easily age another decade in a way that inures to the benefit of the cellar and the delight of syrah enthusiasts. Proud to be one.
