Spottswoode
Lyndenhurst Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Spott on. Deep, dark, and Napa beautiful. At first aromatic... But tight. Closed down for a few hours then opened up late evening. The second half of the bottle the next night was brilliant. Serious stuff regardless of a second label... 2007 has a few years to go.

Beautiful deep nose with black fruit, subtle spices, cedar wood and a hint of dark chocolate and vanilla. Medium- to full-bodied with layers of dark berries, slightly dusty but well-integrated tannin, well-balanced acidity and great length with retronasal fruit and spices. This should age effortlessly for another 5 to 10 years. This wine has real depth and class. If this is the second wine, I can imagine the grand vin is fabulous. Great value too. 2007 vintage, 14,4% abv., 40 euro (about 45 $).
