Reserve Pinot Noir

Damn this is good. Light, elegant and drinkable with a sensuous mustiness, mint, red fruit and spicy sweetness.

Stunning nose of bright cherry fruit, mid to early season mostly, licorice, watermelon and a sweet herbal note. Almost roasted herbs. Cherry jolly rancher as well. Just gorgeous. Palate is barely sweet, explosive and succulent. Sappy and structured with outrageous length and purity. I mean this is really long. Nose hints now at perfectly ripe strawberries. Succulent and tangy and needs mega air to open up which it will. Tightly coiled right now but man the length never lies. This is getting sweeter and fleshing out with 25 minute of air.

Nose is fully secondary. Stunning red cherry fruit, sous bois, wild mint, wow this so outrageously complex and nuanced. Really genius. 9.6 nose. Wow. This is so much better than when I had it last time. Palate is so fresh and energetic. Sappy and sweet with terrific purity and length. Finish needs to fill out a bit but it’s all there. 9.4 for now. Nose is getting honeyed now. So good. Florals. Smells like a Vosne-Romanee.

Young but stunning. Nose is a bit more closed than the 11 and 12. It’s also a bit cold now. I’ll be back for more nose notes. Palate is slamming. Dense and sweet fruit with great purity, freshness and balance. Velvety tannins. Sweet cherry fruit. Wonderful sweetness to the tannins and great structure as well. But all in all a baby. I’d wait 3-4 years. So good though.

Wow the nose is stunning. More depth than the 2011 but different and just as good. Gorgeous mulled spices, raspberry, wood shavings, mid season ripe cherries, so deep, hit of honey, so wafting and wonderful levels of insane spice. Palate is just so so impressive. Incredible sweetness and depth with exquisite purity and concentration. Amazingly clean and so lacey. Grippy, ripe and sweet tannins. Dazzlingly pure and persistent finish that has spice and fruit with a lovely hit of opulence on the finish that adds so much. Amazing wine. Will age longer than you will think. 15+ years.

Stunning Vosne Romanee like nose. Just gorgeous and deep. Hint of wood spice, mulberry, bright deep dark cherries, glorious other spices like cardamon and clove with devastating purity. Nose is so layered, and man is it pungent. Smells like it is just entering its drinking window. Palate is a dream you don’t want to wake up from. Sappy and pure with a hit of opulence and lovely fruit that is more skin than body. Incredible balance and purity with a step above lithe structure. Terrific sweetness and exquisite balance. Long lingering finish. It has that Pinot lacey texture and impressive sweetness. This is gaining depth and sweetness as it opens. Brilliant.

This is wonderful. Beautifully aged to a nice brick red. Must, earth, wet-leaf and humus, plus violet and wildflower, raspberries and various red fruits on the nose. Silken-light, but still energetic. Some blood-orange zest, clove, star anise, baking spices and culinary herbs too; has an aglianico-like character minus the tannins. Elegant and so easy to drink.

Smells first like a black garbage bag of dried leaves and green herbs. Then brown sugar and soy sauce.

Complex, crunchy, umami, moves on to brighter times and sour cheery cherry juice.

Nose is a lovely cherry perfume. Sour cherry. As this opens it gets chambollly. 9.5 nose. Really gorgeous.

Palate is Bright cherry. A hint of green pepper and rubber. Savory. My guess is that this is still young. As this aerates it gets richer and richer.

This could be quite good in 3 years. Good to very good 1er cru burgundy. Which given the price is quite a deal.
