I love 2018 in the Mosel. If you nailed it it’s as good as 15. If you didn’t, well there’s always 19. Nose is quiet and closed. Some slate, honey, wild mint and hints of tangerine and peach flesh. Hint of vulcanized rubber. Palate is dynamite. Good acidity but so complex and deep. The depth here is more than the 15. A fresh, tangy honeyed richness just takes over the palate. It’s nimble and racey as well. What a mouthfeel and that icing on the cake texture. So delicious and awesome.

May 17th, 2022One of my favorite sites in the Mosel. Gorgeous, elegant and honeyed nose. Some spice and unreal fruit. Guava, mango, honeydew melon abound. Classic Goldtropfchen. Elegant, restrained, juicy and chiseled. Sappy and pure. Compelling finesse here. Lovely slatey finish and almost tannic and just keeps pumping out the perfectly ripe fruit but staying nimble and racey the whole time. Startling length. Wow.

May 17th, 2022Superb. Deeply fruity and open nose. Apricot and mineral. So so deep. Wonderful slate and also honey. Palate has tons of acid and minerality with lovely sweet fruit and amazing purity. Honeyed, ripe and rich with some nice opulence. Good acids on the finish. Very mineral finish. Lovely for this humidity and heat.

Deep, oily petrol aromas with touches of fruit. Moderate acidity is decently balanced by loads of peach fruit and noticeable sweetness. Long, easy, fruity finish.
