Dark and opaque. Aromatic and expressive. Notes of ripe black cherry, blackberry, black pepper and spices, some earth. There is some wild strength in the tannins and acidity, which are enjoyable, but I’d love to come back to this in a few years to see how it’s all come together.

Very young and precocious. I don't normally go for this varietal. Looking beyond its disjointed youth, this should settle down and behave. Difficult to tag the components on the nose, but I did detect strawberries.
On the palette, I found it really crunchy with mouth-drying tannins. Served at Nougatine, but requires at least another 24 months of bottle age.
I guess, it's a matter of taste...

This is a medium/full bodied barbera with a velvety mouthfeel and nice acidity. Dark cherry, blueberries, cloves, and anise all come through beautifully on the palate. Finish is persistent with spice lingering on the palate. Paired well with herb-roasted chicken and a side of roasted potatoes with dill and feta.
