Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon

Rich, creamy texture. Loads of blackberry, cassis, black cherry, violet, leather, and oaky vanilla. Very well balanced - silky smooth but still had plenty of finesse. A really great example of Oakville elegance.

Exciting to try the 16 vintage. Excellent and very consistent with previous vintages. At Family Winemakers of California Tasting in Del Mar. WS also gave this 92 Pts.

Am I missing something? It’s a good wine, but at the price it should be better. Maybe I’m just grumpy tonight. Tasted the 2016.

Absolutely gorgeous cabernet. Loads of aromas come out of the glass. Blackberry compote, tobacco, and some soil. Seamless and suave. Mouthfeel is silky. Lack of tannins make more worried of longevity. Good for early drinking.

Rich red-fruited Cabernet. Leans sweet with no discernible acid or tannins, but does show the nose and texture typical of the Oakville AVA. A premium 'pop-n-pour' Napa Cab for restaurants.

PnP. Dark red color. Cherries, iodine, subtle oak, and stewed fruit on the nose. Pretty one dimensional and lighter than I was expecting. Lacks depth and finish. Not bad but kind of watery.

1hr+ decant. Dark red color. Nose had bright cherries and subtle licorice. Wine seemed tight and lacked character. Nice texture, but pretty average overall.

PnP. Dark red color. Nose is dominated by dark cherries and has some Pinot tones. Wine is refined with integrated oak, earth, and very fruit forward. Big tannins that settle over time. Medium depth. I really enjoyed it!

Smooth, balanced, blueberries and chocolate. Drinks very easy.
