Callabriga Alentejo Red Blend

Excellent red wine! Fantastic group of flavors, well balance and perfect with a steak!

Deep red with aromas of ripe sweet fruit, produced from a blend of red varieties Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro Preto, characteristic of the region. On the palate this full-body wine showed ripe Berry flavors, blackberry and cherry, somewhat port-like. The 2006 had soft tannins and mild acidity, finishing with medium length and a little minerality.

Held up nicely after being recorked for a few days. Dry, drinkable and ready to drink after opening. No need to breathe.

Strong metallic finish. Could be a bad bottle based upon other ratings.

A great wine. Nice bouquet with oak. Tasted best when allowed enough time to open.

Dry in the mouth a lot of tannins. Heavy berry flavor licorice and dark chocolate.

Intense dark fruits dominate. Jammy and juicy. Strong nose with hints of tobacco.

Very Port-like. It's from Portugal.
