Fantastic wine value. Buy this. Lush blackberry and bright cherry, cedar, milk chocolate. A little hot. Light smooth tannins. Coming from Amador at 14+% alc.

Why buy northern Rhone when this is close to just as good and at a much better value. Good dense dark fruit, good tannins, excellent oak integration and just plain yummy.

I like Syrah. I like Sobon. I don’t like Sobon Syrah. Too tight and tart. Tried it over two nights, no improvement.

Dec 9th, 2016Approach this one carefully. Grilled teriyaki flank steak with cedar chips on the nose. Overwhelmingly fruit forward on the palate, this wine goes from under ripe plumb to grape jelly on the palate. Not my style and I'm honestly hoping this was just a cooked/bad bottle.
