2006 vintage killer wine this is a true Burgundian style winery and doing lean long before#ipob great wine from a massively underrated vintage. Time is showing 06 to be the wine geek year no surprise here

Skewis Pinot with butternut squash soup and great friends - brighter red fruits with cherry focus and a good spice

Gave an hour of air, no decant. Brilliant ruby tinged with a hint of bricking, nearly translucent. A bit of cola tonight but dominated by a delicate, almost creamy raspberries. Elegant.

A pale ruby hue in the glass with just a touch of bricking at the edge. Took her an hour to relax and then we settled in for a nice long evening of sipping. While the berries show up mid palate, this is a subtle offering, with a smooth texture and surprisingly long finish.

It is a shame that Hank and Maggie Skewis have hung it up! This might be my last '13 and I wish I had more of the '14s. After 30 minutes open, the really blossomed. Tons of fruit and a gorgeous nose. A bit of bricking at the edges.

2013 on Jan 13, 2017. Cherry, spice, earthy. On the subtler side particularly for a Russian River

One of my favorite Russian river pinots. So sad Hank is retiring. He makes some good wine!
