£11.50 Wine Society On the nose this has notes of sweet tar and smoky, rich blackberry and cherry fruit, serious stuff. In the mouth this is rather tight but has some wonderful, textured, slightly bitter cherry and blackcurrant, lips making acidity and tongue coating tannins (but in a good way!) 90pts

Very well made. Spicy, black fruit and good texture. Smoother than Chianti, this is a blend Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Alicante and Syrah. Can drink without food.

A smooth yet bold super Tuscan with rich stewed plum, cassis and dusty blackberry on the nose and a super smooth palate full of cherry, chocolate and a hint of vanilla on the finish. We paired it with spicy sausage and broccolini tagliatelle.
