Simon Bize & Fils
Aux Vergelesses Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Cool and pretty. In a very good place for drinking now. Placid raspberry and a dark bramble undertow. Good acid. Light and precise

Nose is a mix of aged wet earth, mint, big underbrush, some cherry compote. Palate is kind of messy but fresh. A bit warm. Seems dilute. Off.

In a fantastic place right now...garnet core bricking to an amber rim. Dried strawberry and roses initially lead to layers of mushroom and autumn leaves. There’s tobacco tertiary sweet teriyaki too. Structurally, moderate tannins are singing with graceful acidity brining cherry and plum fruit. Tobacco and leather follow the nose. This is evolved yet still fresh. Cheers!
