Totally different than the ‘12 vintage, this is darker, more aromatic and more dense. A slightly earthy/dusty/spicy quality to the nose, the entry is a touch sweet with Blueberry, dark cherry, leather, vanilla, cloves and a noticeable eucalyptus note. Really nice wine.

Out of the bottle this is light-colored as a Pinot. Dark cherry and cedar dominate the nose. It's medium bodied with dark fruits, brown sugar and a touch of vanilla. Medium tannins.

For $60 this wine is rather nice. 100 case production. Red fruit dominated. Red licorice and herbal red fruitcake nose and entry. Goes to a slightly darker herbaceous tongue in the middle and finish it stays mostly a candied red cherry throughout. Very enjoyable with lots of acidity and a ton of power in this wine. Would go very well with a whole host of foods or would be perfectly well on its own. In my opinion, this is 10x more interesting than most wines at this price point, and actually more interesting than wines way above its price point. Combination of Antica fruit and Whitehall fruit from St Helena. Wishing I had a case of this right now. Drink with a 1-hour decant or hold for 5 to 7 years.

Great cab that paired very well with the porterhouse.

Good. Not great. Has an interesting herbal element. Wouldn't buy it for myself.
