Started in 1972 with a simple philosophy - to focus production on only one varietal, Cabernet Sauvignon. A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14.5% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot & 0.5% Malbec. Dark opaque Ruby with aromas of red fruits, oak, sweet herbs and spice. On the palate raspberry and blackberry flavors with notes of cacao and espresso. Fine dusty tannins, satisfying acidity on lingering smooth finish ending with sweet oak tones. Nice!

cigar/tobacco on the nose, and deep rich long fruits on the finish. Paired incredibly with Oysters Rockefeller and Dry-Age Bone-In Rib Eye!

I'm not here to knock Silver Oak, as they can make some very good wines and they are great for Napa Valley. The 2011 Alexander Valley isn't my favorite. It's by no means horrible, but it's quite acidic and tart.
