Medium bodied well balanced and so drinkable I could drink it all day . . . maybe.

I'm not here to knock Silver Oak, as they can make some very good wines and they are great for Napa Valley. The 2011 Alexander Valley isn't my favorite. It's by no means horrible, but it's quite acidic and tart.

Red fruit, opulent acidity, gripping tannin, fresh cut firewood. Merlot integrates very well.

Hint of butterscotch on the nose, mild tannin structure with moderate acid. Very #gulpable but lacking complexity or intrigue.

They did an excellent job in the challenging 2011 vintage. There's a nice elegance and restraint to this wine but still has those signature American oak aromas. Really developed nicely after a few hours.
