Baga is the grape that's waiting for the world to discover it right now and this is the best entry level example on the market. Think spicier, more herbaceous, burlier version of Nebbiolo.

High tannins, medium plus acidity. Black plums, tobacco, and coffee. Excellent with spicy pepperoni pizza and grilled bell peppers with halloumi.

Really pretty nose of ripe cherries, pepper, rose petals and coffee grounds--palate is fresh and lovely, crazy drinkable. On a roll with my last couple Portuguese wines...merits further investigation!

Sooooooo good. Bang for your buck! Had at home with chicken breast stuffed with fresh rosemary, pancetta and breadcrumbs, rolled up. Side sauce of tomatoes and fresh herbs.

Tannic and challenging value red, worth a shot if you have food with it.
