Vintage 2018 | purple red colour, dark colour. Distinguished smell with tones of tobacco, morellocherries. Charming wine with creaminess, character, powerfull taste and nice bitters in aftertaste.

Grabbed this after a tour of Shaw+Smith plus tasting. Drank over a couple of hours, following a 2 hour decant. Loved it, Quintessential cool-climate shiraz, medium bodied fresh, dark fruits, coffee, bitter chocolate, earthy, peppery, whole bunch, savoury with super fine tannin bringing a gentle grip to a long finish. Balanced and complex - we kept coming back on each taste for something different until .. it was gone

At the Shaw and Smith tasting from the Cellar Door. The Balhannah Shiraz is made from a few select rows in the Shiraz vineyards. From a cooler year - very stalky, herbal and earthy. As different to Barossa Shiraz as you can imagine. Detailed and fine. Ultra ultra savoury and just medium weight. Not for everyone - vive la difference. Barb loved it. Just checked Huon Hooke’s rating where he gave 97 points and said “sensational Shiraz “.

Our first Single Vineyard release and my first Single Vineyard bottling when I took my current position at S+S.
This wine will live for decades. Proud to be apart of history in the Adelaide Hills.
Like most wines in our cellar they must pair well with
#pizza and it does 🤙🏽

A great expression of The Adelaide Hills and the strength and finesse that can come from our area.

Savoury, gamey, kalamata olive. Almost a suggestion of leather, Earth.

Medium bodied, with a depth and intensity that sees it almost cranked up to 11. It's savoury, intense, with a fair crank of the pepper mill towards the back end.

This little beauty is unreleased but coming soon.
Texture, structure, generous and sexy. Age worthy to boot.
