Great if you want big flavor with lower tannin. Smoke and sour cherry on the nose, ripe fruits on their way to jam, flavors of strawberries, plums and cherries that deliver then roll out for a satisfyingly dry finish that gives you a honorable mention in the tannin arena. High in alcohol at 15.9 but manages to hit your palette smoothly with wood and fruit, complexity and drinkability, awesome overall, highly recommend for pinot noir lovers looking to go bolder or cabernet scarey cats looking to get brave!

You really need to let this wine breath. It tasted much better the next day. I thought Dave & Joel did a bad job on this one, but I was wrong.

Ruby. Licoriced berry nose with mushroomy smoked game notes. Med dry, med acidity, med body. Smokey earth flavors, tart red cherry, and a mildly mint herbal quality. Had a growing olive quality about the flavors as it opens. Tart astringent sharp finish that gradually extends. Deceptively alcoholic at 15.6%.

Is it a Grenache Friday?

Beautiful color of light ruby with a wide red rim.

Clean and fresh nose of blueberries, cherries, licorice, blackberries, green pepper, chocolates, vanilla, oak, spices, black pepper, cola, metals, graphite and bitter herbs.

Medium plus in body, elegant and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, bell pepper, cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, green olives, leather, forrest floor and black pepper.

Medium finish with round tannins and bitter vegetable notes.

A very nice effort from the house of Dave Phinney and Joel Gott.

A Grenache from France that is aprochable and inviting right out of the bottle. Complex and interesting, but a little bitter on the ending for my taste. Gets earthier as it opens up.

Enjoyable by itself, but better with food. I paired it with pork chops and mashed potatoes.

I wasn't disappointed, but I hoped for more. After all, Phinney is one of my favorite producers...

15.8% alcohol by volume.

Ripe at first, before dark, warm pepper dominates the palate with some oak and wood and earth.
