Segura Viudas
Reserva Brut Cava Blend

Bit of funk at the start, mothballs, lemon zest bread and yellow apple. Decent flow on palate but not enough depth to contain its mousse. Too bubbley for its concentration.

Flowery and citrus in nose, touch of stone, good balance and length for $14, an enjoyable and reliable inexpensive sparkler!

A: clear, straw yellow
N: aromatic, youthful, grapefruit and pineapple
P: dry, very light, crisp, simple, good balance, flavourful, short finish, lemon, apple, mineral
O: very pleasant... not too dry, quite fruity like a Prosecco.

Really disappointed in quality decline of this cava. Low in effervescence, sweet Apple, lemon, peach with decent acid. Meh. Nothing special.

Sparkling and with a lot of flavour. Good for the hors d'oeuvre or snacks, as its palet is sweet yet with a good compensation of bitterness, complementing many traditional Spanish appetizers (chorizo, as I had)!
