Dec 3rd, 20152 hour decant ( lots of chunky sediment). A thrilling dark ruby red color with some bricking. On the nose: sweet aged cab perfume with creme brulee, smoked meats, currants, raspberry, crushed rocks. Taste: sweet red plum, cedar, vanilla mocha, with a dry cherry tobacco medium plus finish. Still has grippy tannins...no hurry, another 10 years of great drinking ahead!

Jun 27th, 2020A must try wine! Dark red and cloudy in color. Black fruit, forest floor cedar/smoke and lingers currants and eucalyptus on the nose. But a burst of raspberry fruit mocha on the taste, graphite and grippy tannins. Can definitely age plus 10 years! Watching the movie El Camino with this terrific wine!

Oct 26th, 2019Saturday....time to jump in the way back machine. Double decant(lots of chunky sediment). A sensational dark ruby red, not a lot of bricking after all these years. On the nose: black fruit, forest floor, cedar, eucalyptus. Taste: big raspberry, mocha, graphite, still some slightly grippy tannins...nice acidity leading to a long finish on this 14.1 alcohol beauty! Hoorah...still have 4 more bottles and this will last years.

Dec 28th, 2017Wow, this is special. The cork was the beginning, one of the best corks I have seen. The aroma once opened was succulent. The first taste was just was a great indicator of the evolution to come. I reserve the right to revise upward my rating once the wine opens up. The amazing thing is this wine has many more years of bottle aging still in it--a baby if you will at 16 years!!
