1.5 hour decant(lots of chunky/fine sediment). A remarkable dark garnet with little bricking. On the nose: red fruit, espresso, campfire, touch of cigar box. Taste: Elegant, balanced, silky, juicy, layered wine with red plum, currants, leather, tobacco and a sweet vanilla cocoa finish. YUM! What a pleasure to drink and still has many years ahead of it

Oct 14th, 20232008 vintage in January 2021. Double-decanted 2 hours before serving. That was helpful as it opened into a big wine that is still fairly primary with big fruits and some graphite. Plenty of backbone and will last another 7-10 years easily but want to try this again in 1-2.

Had the magnum a while back with family and was impressed. This wine is wonderful a nose you want to dive into, and then just a wonderful collaboration of fruit, tannin and balancing acid. Bravo - just placed my order for the 2012.
