Nitschke Block Shiraz
Screwcap. Still absolutely rocks! Plums and blackberries awash in milk chocolate, licorice, and leather with fruit and acid in harmony. A bit truncated but that just makes me go back for the next sip sooner.

Jan 8th, 2019Wow! Tasted blind and I kept going back-and-forth between northern Rhône and Barossa. at first the nose was full out, with black and blue fruit, black olive and eucalyptus. Then the palate brought me back with a lot of restraint, slightly grippy tannins and good acidity. Finally it started showing more vanilla, spice and just ripe blue fruit, leaving me wanting for more. Good teaching moment for what Barossa Valley can achieve when things are in balance

Sep 10th, 2017Wow! Tasted this prior to release w/winemaker in AUS and it was magnificent and it has only gotten better. More black than purple, very dark completely opaque, decadent notes of black/blue ripe fruit w/liqueur like accent, very complex, some medicinal, white pepper, leather, damp earth - just giving you more with each swirl, minute plus persistent lovely finish. This wine is peaking and such great density & integrated tannins- bet it goes another decade (easily)
