Schrader Cellars
RBS Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
This is a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.
Full bodied, smooth and elegant, with a pretty nose.
Showing black fruits with cedar, light vanilla, leather, spices, earth, cola, chocolates, tobacco, coffee, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Fruit forward, rich and extracted. Spicy and interesting.
A great wine from a great vintage, and a great Vineyard. What a combination. Tasty and tangy. Just Delicious.
Robert Parker 98 points.
Needed 3 hours to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle too.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Aged in 100% new oak barrels for 20 months.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
95 points.
$400.

Schrader was just so decadent w nice blue and raspberries and Cherri fruit - tertiary notes like chocolate, spring blossoms, plums, cassis and I think graphite - fine tannins and exceptional balance on the palate and a sexy finish - love Schrader - and yes I destroyed the label but not the wine thank God

Nov 13th, 2021What not to say but first with my great friend @David L - this was a tie with the Stein for red wine of the night - we even did a little singing to Steve Perry lol - will never share that video - this is a 2011 - and all I can say is the critics missed the 2011 vintage - it is so good - nothing wrong and all good - just so in the zone - I wish I had cases of this wine

Mar 29th, 2021Lots of chocolate, mocha, blackberries. Sort of thick. Extremely dark. Is this made by taking wine and simmering it down a little?? Sort of delicious though.

Jan 20th, 2020So. Good. The purity and depth of fruit here forces you to pause and demands attention. Dark berry. Dark cherry. There’s a nice floral note mixed in with a graphite/mineral vein. Soft tannins. All so well balanced and proportioned

Dec 15th, 2019Not the most complex Schrader I have had yet still delivers elegance on all fronts.

Apr 12th, 2019Seriously, it was that good. Everything was in perfect harmony. Medley of red, blue and black fruits...rich and ripe without being too much. Spiced cocoa, nutmeg and graphite lead off the front palate before a velvet like texture hits the middle showing all the fruit spectrum in baked pie form. Lengthy and structured finish. A true stunner from @Keith Fisher
