Monthly WTF group recap. Theme this month was “bring something special”. Normally we taste all of the wines blind, but we decided to do a relaxed night with amazing wines at a great restaurant. Spectacular evening!

I had the ‘15 a few months back and this seems much more fresh! Just a killer example of gruner. Classic. Smells of white pepper and a freshly opened can of green beans (weird, I know). There is even a creamy nature to this on the palate. Hay, chalk, limestone and bright stone fruits. Wonderful. Thanks
@Jeff Meyer .

Monthly WTF wine group meet up. Theme was “bring something good”. All wines (minus the bubbles and SB) were tasted blind.

This one was tough. In my experience, I normally pick up more white pepper aromatics. My guess was Albariño due to the floral, yet slightly sweet, structure of the wine. Herbal front half, sweeter back half. However, we were told that “canned green beans” can be a giveaway for GV. Kudos to Jeff who guessed varietal and house! Thanks,

Very ripe. Candle wax quality to the citrus but losing on edge and acidity

A beautiful example of Gruner. Waxy Meyer lemon rind encompasses the palate. Chives and fresh herbs on the finish. Plentiful bright acidity. Would be a perfect pairing for a simple grilled fish. #sommcon

Great example of Gruner from a premier cru plot in Kamptal. The nose is full of green grass, white flowers, white pepper notes, citrus. Very fresh green mineral palate. Acidity is medium high, high quality wine
