2006 Solid. I will confess that I don't have a proper cellar and I think this may have suffered from temp fluctuations. Let set for day 2, much better. Savory characters showing nicely under red fruits

Steak night. Great for that. Big. Spicy oak character up front. Dark juicy fruit/cassis.

Beautifully smooth. Nice food wine, no rough edges just pop and pour.

A reflection of last night: silky smooth tannins, this wine is in the right spot. Plums, anise, great finish to the evening.

Fennel tops, licorice, blackberry, black olives, overripe banana. So incredibly delicious

A luxurious library release from Fred and Judi. Just a hunch but the wine has the gentle tannins and fruit to cellar a few more years. Color is still a deep garnet with no signs of brick. Lively nose of black raspberry and a tinge of leather ( structure). Supple tannins.
Enjoying with a pan seared ribeye and the acidity pairs superbly with the steaks richness

Very similar flavor profile to the 2012 Scherrer Vineyard cab, but without as much structure. This was surprisingly ready to go on opening and, given the lighter tannin presence, is one Iā€™d enjoy over the next few years, while the vineyard designate could go longer.
