Merry Christmas to all on Delectable! The best drop during our wine squad’s pre-Christmas gathering has to be this masterpiece from Tim Frohlich. Such insane concentration, yet so filigreed and focused. The trademark reduction and vintage's ripeness gave it such an intense jackfruit character. Notes of herbs, spices, and ripe oranges too, as well as hints of mint and white florals. The palate was dense, silky, and straight up powerful, but never heavy - it remained juicy, bright, and saline throughout. And the finish here was just something else. It went on and on, filled with zingy citrus and a smoky, stony minerality. Really impressive stuff here and definitely a worthy contender (vs. Felseneck) for the title of Schafer-Frohlich’s top wine.

Schäfer Frölisch Stromberg, glorious in all its ways . Deep and developing complexity reaching all the way down the the parent rock in its minerality, interwoven with a fresh yet ripe fruit profile. The palate is high on the treble with full support from the orchestra in the background.

Honestly is there an easier ‘regal’ wine on earth that drinks this easy without any brainpower? If you want to add brainpower, it’s ethereal, mind bending, all out cerebral stuff. Doesn’t matter which road you choose, this stuff is bomb.com

Pale straw colour. Tight, mineral and lean. Slightly effervescent. A day open in the fridge failed to yield more generosity. Park it for some years in the cellar and it is likely to show better.
