One of our older Rosés in our cellar and perfect for starting off our July 4th celebration.
Deep magenta pink. Nose is earthier than we remember, with strawberries and some light cinnamon. Some floral notes too. Medium acidity (6/10) and light plus to medium bodied. Notes of strawberry creme, melon, and a touch of stone fruits. Medium to long finish. Drink now.

Light orangey pink, almost blush in color. Layered nose with light strawberries, some kiwi and river rock in the finish. Moderate acidity (7/10) and light to medium bodied. Palate has notes of strawberries, and a little melon. Bright and crisp, very refreshing. Slightly stoney finish, long and dry finish. Drink till 2019.

One of our favorite Rosés. This vintage is made up of 75% Syrah and 25% Muscat. Straight out of the bottle this could easily confuse you with hummingbird nectar. Bright and intense magenta pink. Lively and bright on the nose too with melon, watermelon and strawberries. Easy to see how the Muscat influences this bottling, sweet and moderate bodied. Great acidity (6/10) and balanced. Love the complexity of this wine with lychee, ripe strawberries, and tropical fruits like melon and cantaloupe. Beautifully long finish with a little kick near the end. Drink till 2017.

Sep 5th, 2016Second Rosé of the tasting is the Syrah Rosé from Scalon Cellars. Beautiful and bright pink in color, completely different than the Tercero Wines and a shade lighter than the Two Shepherds. Nose started out with some strawberries, red berries and some light vanilla. As it opened up over the evening it developed some rose petals and light white floral notes. Beautifully crisp and refreshing. Slightly sweet with a good amount of white and red fruits such as strawberries and white peaches on the palate. Moderate acidity (6.5/10) and smooth body. Long crisp and off-dry finish. Drink till 2020.
