Blackberry, plum, blueberry, and black currant. M+ acid, m body, m+ chalky tannin. Black fruit carries on the palate. Long finish and balanced. Quite lush. Would be great with steak.

Carménère from Apalta planted in 1938. Aromatically, this was quite similar to the 2011 Almaviva I had a couple weeks ago. Smoke, chocolate, olive, and pencil shavings... evocative of left bank Bordeaux, and yet distinctively Chilean. Quite a bit thinner and more tart on the palate than the Almaviva, but continuously improved and gained weight over several hours.

Great complexity in this bottle! Plums, blueberries, spicy peppers, tobacco, slight chocolate & oak in the finish.

Great wine with richness and all around structure. Beautiful aromas of cassis, black currants, menthol, vanilla, cigar box, and pepper spices. Rich mouthfeel with vanilla and rum spices. Long finish ad good tennis.

Powerful wine. Dark fruit up front but a bit subtle. Taste of tobacco and earth toward back. Long finish.

This is the best carmenere i had from Chile. I love this wine. Not cheap but worth the money. Excellent with meat. To be enjoyed with friends during a nice diner

One of the better Carmeneres that I have tasted. Dark fruit, bell pepper, mint, licorice, sweet spice. Full body, M+ acid, M tannin. Well-balanced and incredibly complex. #ChileIsCarmenere #DrinkChile
