Rose petals. Licorice. Nice bottle development. Seamless. Dried cherries. Amazing value. Leafy.

While designated Valtellina Superiore, richness and depth indicates appasimento(Sfursat character). Heavier than expected.....

2011. How does mountain nebbiolo get so rich?

Nebbiolo grapes in the appellation of Valtellina in Italy's Lombardia region with their name of Chivavennasca, very sensuous red with a velvet finish.

Fantastic just so smooth. Can't wait to see how this one evolves. Raspberry jolly ranchers on the finish.

It's varietally Nebbiolo, but where does the sugar/ripeness come from? Too much wood interfering with the grape? Very confused.

Somebody forgot to tell these wine makers that this isn't suppose to be amarone. Ripe fruit, with a american oak-esque vanillin sweetness. Not sure what to think about this wine since it is 100% nebbiolo. Bizarre and off my radar. That being said, if you can get through its cloyingness, it doesn't taste that bad.
