Six Pinots, all made by Ed Kurtzman, of August West and Roar fame who also consults to Freeman and Mansfield Dunn. Ed joined our tasting. More fruity, slightly reduced. My #2.

Tart cranberry and cherry predominate, accented by mulling spices, it is pleasant but held back by a bitterness on the finish that intensifies with air. It works well with leftover turkey, gravy, sage cornbread and Challah dressing, and cranberry/orange congealed salad, which tame the bitterness and accentuate the fruit and spice.

Fantastic wine. Big spice on an elegant wine. Worked well with filet mignon with a Stilton and onion sauce.
