Contra Costa County Mataro

Fleshed out quite a bit w air. Maybe I like these wines more than I thought. Still on the edge of shrill/underripe for me.

Has a nice bright acidity. The fruit is very dark (as expected for mourvedre) but it's also incredibly fresh. Reminds me a of a young grenache in it's freshness, but with a darker fruit profile and more weight on the palate. It will be interesting to see how this develops more character with time in the cellar.

Bright cherries, with lithe body....nice

Fresh, vibrant and racy; always so great to drink; more floral nose than I recall. Delicious.

Enjoyed this wine compliments of @Jeff Savigny. Let it breathe, eat it with pizza. A bit on the lighter side, rather dry and somewhat peppery. Not my normal glass of wine yet still very drinkable.

One of two we brought to a Korean BBQ-themed dinner last night. Pretty shy right now, but opened up nicely with the food.

Pretty fruit forward. Lots of dark fruit in there, but light and surprisingly refreshing. Liked it more on the second day.

Perfect intersection of alcohol, acid, tannin and dark somewhat savory fruit. Bright, a little bitter
