1865 Single Vineyard Leyda Valley Sauvignon Blanc

Extremely grassy on palate followed by even grassier—think chewing on onion grass, even leeks—on palate. Grapefruit, some citrus. But man is that green...

I see that this wine didn't get a very good rating, but, although I'm not white drinker, I found this to be both unique and lovely. I smell and taste both pineapple and musk melon. The melon component is something that I cannot ever remember tasting in a Sauvignon Blanc. The acidity of the grape gives it a clean finish.

Green bell pepper notes really acidic closer to NZ sauce blanc style than French

Such a good SB hidden by...yeah...an odd bell pepper-like note.

I rarely pour wine down the sink, but between the opening flavor of...well, I'm not sure what...and the distinct green bell pepper finish, I was done. (But then I intensely dislike green bell peppers.)

Somehow this DOES taste like green bell pepper . . . with the essence of barn stall. Bad bottle?

Bad bottle? Spoiled green bell pepper smell. Dissapointing for the price. Not 90 points as advertised.

Crisp, not too dry, good balance of fruity, no aciditc aftertaste, clean finish
